Oscars: Welke horrorfilms wonnen een Academy Award?

Sinds 1929 worden de Oscars door Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences uitgereikt, hoewel het beeldje pas later die bijnaam kreeg. De Academy krijgt regelmatig kritiek over het geheimzinnige stemprocedure, anderen vinden dit juist de charme van de Awards.

Het horrorgenre heeft nooit veel succes kunnen boeken bij deze belangrijke en oudste filmprijs. In 2010 werd er een speciale tribute to horror georganiseerd tijdens de uitreiking, al viel dit bij het horrorgenre niet echt in goede aarde.

Maar duistere films ging ooit weer niet altijd met lege handen naar huis. Ik ben de archieven ingedoken en vond nog een behoorlijke lijst aan winnaar. Meestal rondom special effect, makeup en geluid.
